Remarkable Fathers

It is their day today...the day set apart (as if one day out of the year is enough) to thank them, bless them, love them and grace them. Remarkable -- worthy to be remarked about over and over again.

There's my man, the love of my life. He loves his family deeply, choosing us over anything each and every time...over work, over sports, over anyone or anything else. Loving, kind and patient. Quiet until you get to know him. Hilariously funny when you do! Spontaneous. Disciplined and a good steward of all that God has blessed us with. The best Dad I could have ever have had for my children. Sensitive and introspective. Fun loving. A "deal finder" and therefore, a great gift giver! Forgiving and merciful. Honorable and praiseworthy. My best friend. My irreplacable love.

There's my dad. Kind, loving and giving. Would give the last dollar he had to anyone in need. Still committed and devoted to my mother after almost 44 years of marriage. A man of integrity -- his word is indeed his bond. Practical and a problem solver. Nothing is ever too hard and fear is not in his vocabularly. He's peaceful and joyful. Hilariously funny! A spontaneous trip taker -- we never knew where we would go on any given weekend. He is still that way with my mom. A man of the Word -- a student and a teacher. My dependable Daddy.

There's my brother. Kind of funny that I mention him because I'm not sure I've ever wished him Happy Father's Day. Hilariously funny! Sometimes a bit irreverent and boisterous. Kind, generous, loving and giving. I think of him more today than some because 11 years ago almost to the day he buried his wife -- only 29 years old -- and walked into an uncertain future hand in hand with a 23 month old little girl. Undeniable strength through hard times. When others would have given up, he pressed on. My honorable and admirable brother.

Then there's HIM. Wisdom and strength. Glory and honor. Merciful and Mighty. Willing to give everything that He had for me to live. Altogether lovely. My Contender. The Righteous Judge. Lover of my soul. My Healer. My Provider. Perfect in all His ways. My Refuge, Strength, Strong Tower, Shelter and Deliverer. Constant Companion. Wonderful. Giver of every perfect gift. Worthy of my praise. My Unmatchable Heavenly Father!

Happy Father's Day to the men of my life. Every book in the world could not contain what you mean to me!
