49 - Making a Mark

I just got around to flipping to today's date on my little calendar in my kitchen. The quote was by Gloria Gaither and this is what it says:

A Mother's Prayer:
"Oh God, You have given me...a life of clay. Put Your big hands around mine and guide my hands so that every time I make a mark on this life, it will be Your mark."

I certainly see the importance of this as it is applied to our lives as mothers, but it is way broader than that! It really can apply to EVERY person with whom we come in contact. We mark other's lives with our interaction with them --with our words and actions we influence them, we lift them up or drag them down, we encourage them or condemn them, and we bring healing or harm into their lives.

As followers of God, we have an awesome responsibility to bring life and not death to everyone we meet! As God has blessed us touching us and giving us life, let's extend it to everyone we meet. Let's make a mark for Him for life!!
